According to CWC data (see Figure 2), the major conflict issues reported during the month were Violence/criminality, kidnapping, GVWG and Cultism.

Situation Analysis
Conflict and violence in the Niger Delta region in May 2020 was caused largely by Violence/criminality, Kidnapping , GVWG and Cultism. Rivers, Delta and Cross-River state were the most violent based on reported incidents. The CWC is monitoring the situation closely will collaborate with stakeholders for appropriate interventions.
Prevention Interventions
During the month, there were 2 interventions on Conflict and violence by the CWC. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, interventions were low.
